- Improve community amenity and safety whilst acquiring skills and knowledge in Animal Management and Pound Services
- Full-time, fixed term until June 2026
- Point Cook location
- Band 3 salary of $68,498.56 plus super and a fortnightly RDO

A bit about the role
While many of us love animals, this role requires someone who combines this passion with a committed and demonstrated desire to learn and grow in this field. The role will assist animals in need so at least a basic understanding of animal behaviours is essential. You will be someone who is wanting to work in the animal industry and are willing to gain the skills and knowledge to be able to provide support to the Animal Management Unit and Pound staff in meeting its obligations under the Domestic Animals Act 1994.
What you’ll do
- Assist in the daily cleaning and care of impounded animals
- Assist with customer service, counter enquiries and applications
- Demonstrate a basic understanding and ability to identify animal behaviour
- Assist Animal Management Officers where required
What you’ll bring
- Demonstrated animal handling skills
- Demonstrated desire to work in the animal industry (volunteering or work experience in other organisations is highly desirable
- Strong commitment to quality, detail, and customer service
- Current Victorian driver’s licence
- A positive, curious and flexible mind
