Animal Husbandry Position 

We are searching for a Animal Husbandry person based at our Kununurra operations.  We are looking for a highly motivated, confident, organised, and friendly person to join our team to assist with our processing Team.

The Santanol Group with plantations in Kununurra and oil distillation and refining facility in Perth is a world leader in the production and supply of Indian Sandalwood.  Recently the Santanol Group was acquired by Mercer International Inc a global wood products manufacturing company with headquarters in Canada.

This is a Full Time position (Flexible Hours) based in our Kununurra Operations. We are looking for a highly self-motivated, confident, organised, and friendly person to join our team. This is a diverse role and really suits someone who likes a variety of different jobs and is flexible with working hours as there is a need to work Saturdays and Sundays on a roster.

The Animal Husbandry will be directly involved in our exciting new Goat Project and assisting our Jacana R&D and Nursery facility.

The role is a key part of the Forestry and Silviculture Team

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Compliance with OH&S systems, polices and procedures
  • Livestock management experience
  • Animal health (sheep and goat
  • Goat and or sheep handling experience
  • Mustering and dog handling experience
  • Rural fencing including maintenance and installation
  • Ability to work remotely and unsupervised
  • Current Driver's licence essential
  • Tractor and front end loader.
