About the Company 

Our client has been supplying animal protein both nationally and international for over 60 years. The company’s feedlots are an integral part of their protein supply chain and provide opportunity for a consistent supply of value-added products to the global market.

About the role

This position is critical for successful livestock operations; it works a 5/2 roster. The position is responsible for daily operations across animal health and welfare through leadership of the hospital and pen riding teams.

Responsibilities

• Responsibility for team delivery of desired daily outcomes within the Animal Health functional area.
• Overseeing daily supervision of livestock handling
• Understanding and applying animal welfare standards
• Administration and accurate record keeping of animal health treatments
• Manage cattle to meet standards and quality for their respective feeding programs

Education / Experience / Skills

• Previous experience in intensive livestock management systems with an understanding of animal welfare and performance outcomes
• Demonstrated computer literacy in Excel, Word and Outlook
• Responds calmly in difficult situations maintaining a strong customer service focus
• Exceptional ability to prioritise and multi-skill
• Excellent attention to detail
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
• Must be energetic, passionate and enthusiastic with a demonstrated focus on system improvement
