Creating a brighter future for life in the Tropics and beyond, through education and research that makes a difference locally, and globally, James Cook University (JCU) is now looking to appoint an Animal Ethics Officer to join our world leading University.  A part-time, fixed term contract to April 2025, this position is based at the JCU Bebegu Yumba campus in Townsville.

 

What you can accomplish in this role     

As a key member of a dedicated team, you are passionate about achieving outcomes for your stakeholders and customers and enjoy delivering accurate and efficient administration support.  An efficient and pro-active Administrator, you will assist with the administration of animal ethics applications (pre and post approval), animal ethics reports and data entry relating to all research and teaching involving animals.

 

What you can bring to this role

As a proven administrator, you are adept at working both independently and as part of a team with well-developed communication and interpersonal skills. You can communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders from researchers and employees to government, industry and community to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

Knowledge of  the Australian Code for the Care and Use of Animals for Scientific Purposes and the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research would also be highly regarded.
