He angitūtanga: The opportunity
You will work within the Dog Control Act 1996 and Council policies and procedures to respond to public complaints about dog and stock control; customer requests for services including managing aggressive and/or barking dogs, dog attacks, wandering dogs, stock issues; and providing requirements for proactive patrolling and assistance with prosecutions.
You’ll work in the community, often flying solo, tackling tasks with the support of a large team. You will also assist in prosecutions and intelligence lead proactive patrols.
This role is variable 24/7 morning and evening roster with on call work.

We need a conscientious person, like you, to ensure public safety and compliance. The key to your success is a prompt response to calls for assistance and providing great service.
This role suits individuals with public facing compliance background, who demonstrate strong customer service and conflict management skills, a calm approach to resolving situations and dealing with aggressive dogs and other animals.
A current, full clean NZ driver’s licence is required.
