Description

MCIE are one of Victorias largest registered training organisations managing VETDSS vocational training solutions to high school students through to mature age adults.

 

Responsibilities include;

1. Deliver training programs as assigned by the Director of Quality and Governance or the Head of Department, including:

  • obtaining and using a range of educational resources and learning materials to provide students with a variety of learning experiences.
  • developing a stimulating learning environment by using a variety of styles, techniques, and approaches to present current material.
  • creating effective learning options to meet the varying needs of students utilising, reviewing, and validating assessment instruments suitable for competency-based training programs.
  • submitting student at risk and progress reports and notes according to VETDSS schedule
  • performing all duties associated with subject delivery and assessment.

2. Organise and prioritise personal workflow whilst maintaining RTO compliance standards.

3. Ensure all resources used are the most recent version.

4. Be available and accessible to students for academic counselling as required ensuring they are meeting the qualification requirements.

6. Demonstrate a commitment to providing a child safe learning environment, equal opportunity, ethical practice, and occupational health and safety relevant to the training context.

7. Accurately complete required administration tasks in a timely and professional manner, including, but not limited to the following:

  • distribution, collection and marking of student assessments online
  • distribution of student surveys
  • student attendance and progress reporting to schools via the prescribed portal
  • responding to student enquires via telephone or e-mail and note communication using the appropriate platform, (TEAMWORK Desk)
  • Confirming receipt and understanding of or querying new or updated policies and or procedures with your manager or HoD.
  • Preparing for submission of evidence of student participation and assessment meetings with the assigned Student Administration Officer on a regular basis, see 04-1026 Records Management Policy and Procedure.

08. Coordinate or suggest work experiences with the VETDSS team to ensure the learning is consistent with the Animal Care qualification.

09. Provide student consultation and ensure students are aware of MCIE’s facilities and services.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  1. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116, or equivalent).
  2. Previous experience in a similar VET trainer/assessor role (desirable).
  3. Experience in the animal care sector ie. Vet nurse, Vet clinic experience etc.

 

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  1. Proven ability to deliver quality VET training programs according to organisational training and assessment
  2. Understanding of current policies and procedures.
  3. Proven understanding of validation and moderation processes.

 

Mandatory requirements:

  1. A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  2. A Victorian Teaching Institute – permission to teach or VIT Card (or willing to lodge once commencing).
