About the Position

The Animal Care Facility Officer is a diverse position working within a dynamic team to provide high quality customer service to residents, visitors and other local government contractors.

This position is responsible for providing a high level of care to all animals held within the facility as well as providing husbandry services, including impounding and releasing animals.

This role also includes significant administrative duties, such as purchasing, record keeping, maintaining spreadsheets and animal registrations.

To be successful in this position you will need to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a similar role with animal handling.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the demonstrated ability facilitate conflict resolution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Animal handling qualifications - desirable.
  • Current 'C' Class Driver's Licence.
  • Current National Police Clearance.

This position is on a roster that includes some weekends. The successful candidate must have availability on Saturdays and Sundays.
