About This Opportunity

The Animal Attendant Traineeship is a 12-month program that provides you with the opportunity gain on the job experience while completing a Certificate III in Animal Care Services. The Program is designed to support and put into practice many of the competencies that are attained in the completion of a Certificate III in Animal Care Services course.

You will assist with the care and welfare of animals located in the School of Veterinary Science Buildings at the Gatton campus.

About You

  • Completion of a Certificate II qualification in Animal Studies/Services
  • Commitment to attaining a Certificate III qualification in Animal Studies.
  • Demonstrated care and compassion for and experience in handling animals with a genuine interest and commitment to the welfare of companion animals.
  • Ability to relate and communicate with a wide range of diverse people.
  • Basic computer skills with an eye for detail.
  • Ability to work well with others and be a cooperative team member who maintains effective working relationships.

What We Can Offer 

This is a full-time, fixed-term traineeship for 12 months at HEW Level 1.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $53,130.80 to $55,321.29 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range$62,163.04 to $64,725.91 per annum.
