The Company

Bioproperties Pty Ltd is an Australian owned animal vaccine manufacturing company located at Glenorie in Sydney’s North-West. The company is significantly increasing its production capacity to continue the supply of existing and new live vaccines to the global market. Because we use chickens in our production process, we are looking to expand our team with enthusiastic people.

 

The Role

Animal Technicians are responsible for all stages of the chicken lifecycle as well as the buildings in which the birds are kept. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Handling of eggs, incubation, and hatching
  • Daily monitoring and care of chicks and birds
  • Harvesting birds for vaccine production
  • Cleaning, decontamination and maintenance of bird houses and equipment
  • Detailed record-keeping

 

Skills & Requirements

  • Ability to uphold a high standard of animal welfare and care
  • Capacity to deal with changing priorities and work pressure
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to cope with the physical demands of the role
  • Flexibility in work hours (some weekends and public holidays)
  • Own transport
  • Poultry experience would be an advantage but not a necessity as all training will be provided
