Contract: Fixed Term, Full Time (28th March 2022 - 25th March 2023)

Hours of work will be: 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday, 8.00am – 4.30pm

Location: SPCA Palmerston North Centre

We are seeking…. An animal attendant to work out of our Palmerston North Centre. You will need to have good animal knowledge and will be expected to be able to step into any animal care role within the Centre. You will ideally have already worked with animals within a professional setting such as SPCA, Animal Control, kennels, catteries, Vet clinics etc so if you have a passion for animal welfare then we are looking for you!

Our ideal candidate will:

· Have excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to handle conflict situations and a friendly and positive attitude.

· Be a self-motivated team player, who is enthusiastic about animal welfare

· Be a quick thinker who is skilled at multi-tasking

· Have a flexible approach to the hours of work, and be able to prioritise and effectively manage workloads.

· Have previous proven animal care experience in a professional setting

· Hold a relevant qualification in animal care or vet nursing. Ideally, Level 6 Vet Nursing Diploma

· Hold a current clean driving license
