Our Blue Mountains, RSPCA NSW shelter is now looking for an experienced and compassionate Animal Attendant to join their team on a part time basis. You must be motivated, energetic, reliable and willing to undertake a range of Animal Attendant responsibilities, ensuring a high standard of animal care is maintained.
As an Animal Attendant you will strive to ensure all animals are provided with the highest level of care while focusing on enriching their lives.

About the Role
- Perform animal care tasks such as cleaning cages/enclosures, medicating, feeding, exercising and assessing animals
- Perform basic first aid to animals where required
- High level communication to managers and colleagues to ensure all information is provided to required parties
- Provide high level customer service to all stakeholders
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and disease control
- Educate the public regarding animal care and wellbeing
- Administration duties including recording animal identifications
About You
- Certificate II Animal Care or equivalent experience essential
- Previous animal handling skills
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- The ability to work rotating rosters including weekends and public holidays
- The desire to work with people to improve animal welfare outcomes
- Initiative and ability to prioritise
- Good organisational skills
- Team player
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to conduct manual handling tasks
- Resilience – the ability to bounce back from occasional setback
