Description

An opportunity now exists within our Safe and Healthy Environments unit for suitable Animal Attendant to join our team of professionals, where you will play a key role in ensuring the health and wellbeing of all animals in care and daily compliance with relevant Acts, Regulations, Codes and Policies as they relate to BARC and animal welfare.

This role has the potential for growth and further career opportunities for the right person.

In this role you will be required to juggle competing work demands to meet the obligations of relevant legislation, while performing as directed by the Operations Manager. You will be working with a close team; you must be an effective team player with a strong commitment to working together to achieve successful outcomes.

Professional experience or relevant qualification demonstrating the ability to work with domestic animals is required.  Confidence in handling dangerous and restricted breed dogs and feral cats will be highly regarded.

The successful applicant will assist with day-to-day operations of BARC for our 7 days a week service, rostered weekend work is required. Tasks include but are not limited to daily animal inspection, providing education on responsible pet ownership to customers,  responding to customer enquiries, cleaning of animal housing areas, providing daily welfare requirements to animals including feeding and exercising, maintaining accurate animal records, transportation of domestic animals and administration of medication and treatment.

 

Veterinary Nurses are encouraged to apply.

A satisfactory police records check, a current Working with Children Check is required for this position.
