Animal Attendant Duties

• General cleaning of the kennel complex and associated equipment
• Assessing, monitoring and maintaining detector dogs’ general welfare.
• Provide accurate and timely information regarding detector dog health and welfare.
• Liaise with Technical Supervisor to seek clarity, assistance and to pass on feedback.
• General maintenance of kennel security.
• Bathing, exercising, feeding, administering of medication and other husbandry of dogs as required.
• Transportation of detector dogs to and from kennels and operational environments.
• Identifying and logging maintenance and repair jobs at the kennels.
• Undertake personal administration tasks.
• Other duties as directed by the DDO Technical Supervisor.

Animal Attendant Key Performance Requirements

• Working safely, following safety directions and reporting all incidents, near misses and hazards.
• Understand and adhere to the APS Values & Code of Conduct & following WIs and SOPs to perform tasks.
• Provide courteous, prompt and professional client service.
• Actively communicate with my team to seek/provide assistance or to collaboratively complete a task.
• Working predominately unsupervised and in isolation.
• Making decisions correctly and quickly.
• Ability to adjust and be flexible with changing daily work routines based on operational requirements.
• Contribute to a positive workplace culture by treating people with courtesy, respect and being flexible, tolerant and open.
• Maximise the benefits of change and contribute to the improvement of quality and efficiency of services.

This Role is on a 7 Day rotating roster.

Location: Attwood

Remuneration: $28.93 P/H plus Super Plus Overtime
