About the opportunity

This is a permanent, full-time position responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the Animal Rehoming Program which includes the selling, rescuing, and fostering, of animals at the Blacktown Animal Rehoming Centre (BARC) through rescue/re-homing groups and individuals.

You will also be responsible for developing promotional and marketing strategies to enhance rehoming opportunities.

 

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Relevant qualifications in an appropriate field
  • Excellent communication and public relations skills
  • Sound computer skills with proficiency in the use of Council’s data systems
  • Photographic and videoing skills
  • Experience in dealing with companion animals
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Current driver's licence.

 

Desirable:

  • Ability to drive a manual vehicle.

 

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $1,258.50 per week
  • 38-hour working week
  • Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
  • Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 10.5% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport and gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
