Adviser Compliance - New Zealand Food Safety
We are seeking a keen and professional compliance adviser to join the Regulatory Programmes team within MPI's Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines (ACVM) group.
About the team
The ACVM team is responsible for managing risks to animal welfare, human health, trade and biosecurity associated with the import, manufacturing, use and sale of agricultural compounds, with the Regulatory Programmes team primarily responsible for ACVM's Programme work including Good Manufacturing Practice audits, Adverse Event assessment, Compliance activities under the ACVM Act and our Restricted Veterinary Medicine Seller Programme.
About the role
In this full time position you will be warranted under the ACVM Act and primarily be responsible for supporting the Team Manager Regulatory Programmes in the compliance space. You will be responsible for handling non-compliance events under the ACVM Act. With support from the wider team and technical staff, you will act as a liaison point for ACVM and stakeholders administratively dealing with compliance events, provide input into audits, and be involved in compliance audits as necessary. You will also participate in the development and maintenance of ACVM standards and information requirements
To be successful in this role you will need a relevant tertiary qualification in a discipline applicable to the ACVM environment or compliance and investigation. You will ideally have an excellent working knowledge of the principles and interpretation of the ACVM Act and have strong investigative and problem solving skills.
You must have excellent attention to detail, be comfortable dealing with tricky situations and be able to quickly adapt and think on the run. You will be confident and able to communicate well in a wide range of environments, and have strong and established writing, investigative and critical thinking abilities. The successful applicant must be willing to work at the Wellington office where the team is based. Travel may be needed on occasion.
