What’s on Offer:

 As a Veterinary Pathologist with the Department of Primary Industries, you’ll be:

  • Working within NSW’s premier quarantine and biosecurity facility at the Elizabeth Macarthur Agricultural Institute (EMAI)
  • Earning between $119,500 – $122,000 pa plus superannuation and a 17.5% annual leave loading
  • Operating in a frontline diagnostic facility contributing to providing safe food and support to the agricultural industry of NSW
  • Part of the Biosecurity & Food Safety Division (NSW Department of Primary Industries)

 What You’ll Do:

  • Undertake diagnostic pathology services (including testing, result interpretation and reporting) for terrestrial and aquatic animal diseases.
  • Provide professional and technical feedback on diagnostic services
  • Identify new test opportunities and collaborative partnerships to enhance the diagnostic capabilities’ of the laboratory.
  • Act as a conduit between field veterinarians and laboratory staff
  • Provide scientific leadership to a wide variety of professional and senior technical staff
  • Contribute to the management of the veterinary pathology residency program, providing daily direction and task allocation,
  • Collaborate on research projects
  • Provide pathology expertise in the design, execution and reporting of projects

What You’ve Done:

 A degree in Veterinary Science or equivalent

 And if you’ve got this even better:

Membership or fellowship of the ANZCVS in pathobiology or ACVP/ECVP board certification
