An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Parasitologist to join our team located together with staff from the Roslin Institute and Edinburgh University Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Science at the state of the art Easter Bush Campus near Edinburgh. In this role, you will work on new research projects on the development of nutritional parasite control strategies funded by the EC.
We are looking for a person with in vitro and in vivo parasitological expertise, in particular helminthology to work in a team of veterinarians, animal scientists and ecologists to develop and deliver helminth parasite control strategies. The successful candidate will be working closely and under the guidance of the Principal Investigator and will be liaising closely with academic partners and farmers associations from the UK and Europe. To be considered for this role, you should possess a PhD in parasitology, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have strong quantitative skills and a proven ability to write peer reviewed papers. Molecular biology expertise and knowledge on how nutrition affects immune responses will be considered advantageous. You should be a team player with excellent communication skills. This interesting post requires an enthusiastic, self-motivated and dedicated team player to advance our current understanding on nutritional approaches to parasite control and deliver a significant impact for the livestock sector.
This post is full time and fixed term for three years commencing in September 2018.
