Senior Veterinary Medical Officer (Wildlife)

As theSenior Veterinary Medical Officer you will serve as the Attending Veterinarian for
veterinary medical and technical supervision of IACUC activities to include planning,
formulating, and developing veterinary medical and technical operatingprocedures, and animal welfare guidelines for uniform application of the IACUC program across Forest Service R&D.
Other responsibilities include serving as the national subject matter expert in wildlife health and welfare research issues.
You will be responsible for strategic national program development and planning for the
fish and wildlife health and welfare research program, including assessing the adequacy of existing activities for the entire assigned program, identifying emerging issues and problems, anticipating the need for additional knowledge, coordinating program activities within and across the Forest Service mission areas and, building support for the program with stakeholders inside and outside the Forest Service.
