Group Veterinary Operations Manager – Companion Animal , Zoetis, Sydney NSW

The Group Veterinary Operations Manager is a people leader role within the Zoetis Companion Animal Team whose team provides outstanding veterinary medical support to both internal and external customers in order to align with our strategic direction and business objectives.
The successful candidate will have a high level of technical and business expertise in dermatology, internal medicine and/or other therapeutic areas. The person proactively identifies trends in the veterinary medicine industry and contributes to discussions on business impact and strategic direction. The Group Manager also leads, develops and engages the team of veterinary operations colleagues to uphold and enhance the scientific and professional image of Zoetis within the veterinary profession.
This position reports to the Business Unit Director and forms part of the Companion Animal Leadership Team. It is located in the Sydney office.

Strategic Marketing Support

 Provide medical expertise across brand teams and other groups within Zoetis dependent on business demand which may include therapeutic areas of Dermatology, Parasiticides, Heartworm, Pain Management and Biologicals

 Proactively work with the team on the strategic development and implementation of marketing plans in a competitive environment

 Co-lead planning and execution of marketing programs and other product focused workgroups (e.g. customer feedback teams and Operational Planning)

 Work with a cross-functional team to evaluate new business development opportunities

Collaborative Partnerships with Key Opinion Leaders

 Identify, develop and engage top Key Opinion Leaders and develop a plan on how to continually engage these KOLs in studies, advisory boards or speaking opportunities dependent on marketing priorities and budget

 Lead the efforts in developing and maintaining relationships with KOLs that are strategic influencers.

Study Development with Commercial teams, VMRD & External Key Opinion Leaders

 Identify technical/medical and business gaps and needs for assigned products

 Establish liaison relationships with key animal health organisations critical to the product/therapeutic area supported and to promote and enhance the image of Zoetis

 Identify future trends and market place dynamics and work across functional teams to develop a data generation/study plan [e.g. Phase IV (studies to support marketed products), Phase III studies (new claims), Outcomes Research] to address these needs

Required Education/Experience

 Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent

 Current veterinary registration in Australia

 7+ years industry experience preferred

 Board certification, advanced degree, or training a plus

 Research experience a plus
